Garlic Pepper Steak Kebabs

rib eye steak on bbq 3

Ingredients:

– 1 pound of halal sirloin steak (sliced into 1-inch cubes)
– 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– 1 to 2 zucchinis (cut into approximately 1-inch chunks)
– 1 red onion (cut into around 1-inch chunks)
– 1 bell pepper (cut into about 1-inch pieces)
– 1 to 2 squashes (cut into chunks of about 1 inch)

Instructions:

1. Start by cutting the halal sirloin steak into pieces about 1 inch in size. Do the same with the zucchinis, red onion, bell pepper, and squashes. You want them to be similar in size so they cook evenly on the grill.
2. Put the sliced steak and chopped vegetables into a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a good sprinkle of a halal-friendly seasoning mix, like Back of the Yards.
3. Gently mix everything in the bowl so that the oil and seasoning coat all the ingredients evenly.
4. Thread the marinated steak and vegetables onto skewers. Alternate the pieces to create colorful and tasty combinations on each skewer.
5. If you’re using a grill, preheat it to high heat. Put the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Keep an eye on them as the cooking time might vary based on your grill and your desired level of doneness.

If You're Cooking in the Oven:

1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
2. Lay the skewers on a baking sheet. You can line the sheet with parchment paper or use a wire rack to make sure the air circulates well around the skewers.
3. Roast the skewers in the preheated oven for roughly 12 minutes. Then, flip the skewers to make sure they cook evenly on both sides.
4. Keep roasting for another 10 minutes or until the inside of the steak reaches a temperature of 145°F (63°C). If you like a slightly charred exterior, you can put the skewers under the broiler for a short time.
5. Once they’re cooked to your liking, take the skewers out of the oven and give them a few minutes to rest before serving.
